Whether buying, selling, or renting a home, moving with your dog can be a challenge to you and your pet. Working with someone who understands and respects your specific requirements can make all the difference in an already stressful situation
In addition to being a dog-friendly real estate professional, I am a volunteer dog obedience trainer and have worked with several pet therapy groups with my golden retrievers. I recognize that dogs are a member of your family and should always be considered in your next real estate move.
If there's one thing dog owner can agree on, it's this: Pets are family.
If you find yourself laughing at your dog (or cat, rabbit, turtle, guinea pig...), it's time to show us!
We all love our dogs and get used to dog hair, dirty tennis balls and bones throughout the house.

There are so many training options in the area. I started out in one of Mount Vernon Dog Training Club's basic obedience classes, with my Golden Retriever, AnnaBelle. And like most of us that continued on with our training...I got hooked! Thanks to the terrific trainers, and lots of practice, AnnaBelle earned her Novice Obedience (CD) Title, and her Rally Excellent (RE) Title, in addition to becoming a therapy dog.
Years later, I am now pleased to work with other dog owners to teach the basic commands and to help socialize their dogs.
As a retired AKC Champion and mother of two litters, Honey, and I are currently working towards her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title, and plan to continue our training through the many different levels of obedience and rally.
I highly recommend the Canine Good Citizen program for all dogs. I was just able to find a lovely rental in Alexandria that accepted a Rottweiler based upon having this certification along with a letter from her vet. The CGC is also the first step to becoming a therapy dog.
I can't say enough about the value of a well-trained dog when looking to buy, rent or sell your home.
